48V — The Growing Standard for Electric Vehicle and Storage Applications

48V battery systems deliver more power at lower current than equivalent 12V or 24V systems — reducing cable weight, heat generation, and efficiency losses across the system. Modern golf carts, industrial forklifts, electric personnel carriers, and marine electric propulsion systems increasingly use 48V as the standard configuration. The PowerPlus™ 48V 15 Amp delivers 15 Amp charging at this voltage, with ISM managing the full charge cycle automatically from initial recovery through indefinite float maintenance.

IP68 — Installation in Any Environment

IP68 certification provides complete dust protection and water immersion resistance exceeding IP67 standards. The PowerPlus™ 48V 15 Amp can be permanently mounted in exposed equipment bays, bilge-adjacent compartments, and wet storage environments where standard chargers cannot be installed. Golf carts stored outdoors, marine vessels with electric propulsion, and industrial equipment operating in wash-down environments are all supported.

UL Marine Ignition Protection

Certified to not produce ignition-capable sparks during operation or connection in the presence of fuel vapors — the independent certification required for charging equipment installed in enclosed marine spaces. The PowerPlus™ 48V 15 Amp is suitable for marine electric propulsion and house battery applications in vessels where ignition-protected equipment is mandatory.

Multi-Chemistry: Lead-Acid and Lithium at 48V

A chemistry selector delivers the correct ISM charging profile for either lead-acid or Lithium (LiFePO4) batteries at 48V. The transition to Lithium in 48V applications — golf carts, industrial EVs, and solar storage — is well underway. The PowerPlus™ 48V 15 Amp supports both chemistries at full 15 Amp output, making it a compatible installation for current lead-acid systems and future Lithium upgrades without changing the charger.
